Q.
When should wedding invitations be ordered?
A. When all of
the details of the ceremony and reception have been confirmed. Information
such as the date, time and place of your service and reception, as well
as an accurate guest list count are needed to place an order. You should
order standard invitations at least three to four months and custom
invitations four to five months before the wedding.

Q.
Are the wedding invitation envelopes addressed formally?
A. Yes. Abbreviations
and nicknames should be avoided when possible except for Mr., Mrs.,
Jr., etc. You may use an initial if you do not know the full name, or
if the person never uses his given name. Cities, provinces/states and
numbered streets are written out in full

Q.
Is it correct to use "and family" when addressing the invitation
envelopes?
A. Traditionally,
no. Separate invitations should be sent to adult family members living
under the same roof, whenever possible. Contemporary, yes. For small
children, address the outer envelope to their parents and family.

When should I date my response cards?
A.
The response date should be for approximately
six weeks before your wedding date.

Q.
What if a guest didn’t write their name on the response card?
A. Number your
guest list, and then number the response cards somewhere inconspicuously
(on the back or inside if they are folded) in pencil with numbers that
correspond to your guest list. Then you can cross reference the number
to your guest list!

Q.
When should wedding invitations be mailed?
A. Invitations
should be sent out 10 weeks before your ceremony date. If you have a
large number of out of town guests, we suggest a couple of extra weeks
to give your guests the courtesy of making reservations and securing
travel arrangements more economically.

Q.
Are any special arrangements made for out-of-town guests?
A. You can send
a "save-the-date card" to your out-of-town guests. This card
is usually sent three to four months before the wedding. As it is the
first news your guests have of the wedding, it typically includes information
about the wedding and any special accommodations which you have made
for them.
